For over a decade, I was a brand educator — working behind the scenes on big shows, traveling to classes, and sharing what I learned with stylists across the country. Those years shaped me in ways I could never have imagined.
Teaching isn’t just about passing on techniques. It’s about developing the ability to see people — to recognize potential, to translate complex ideas into something that clicks, and to meet stylists exactly where they are. That’s what teaching gave me. It sharpened my skills as an artist and deepened my heart as a mentor.
Every year, I travel for education. It’s one of the biggest investments I make — not just financially, but energetically. I sit in rooms with some of the most talented stylists in the world and push myself to keep evolving.
Because if I ever stop learning, I stop leading from a place of authority.
When I come back, I bring that energy — and those techniques — home to my team and my clients. My passion is taking what I’ve learned on a global stage and making it practical, approachable, and adaptable for real stylists and real clients in my chair every day.
Here’s the difference between me and many of the educators I’ve trained under: I’m still behind the chair. That’s literally what pays my bills.
My subjects aren’t models chosen for a perfect demo. They’re women juggling jobs, kids, and chaos — and they trust me to make them feel confident in real life, not just for the after photo.
So when I teach, I’m not showing you how a technique works under studio lights. I’m showing you how it fits into a 10-hour day, how to adapt it when your 9 a.m. client is late, or when the texture isn’t what you expected.
Being a brand educator taught me excellence. Being a working stylist taught me empathy.
And those two things together — excellence and empathy — are the foundation of how I teach and mentor in my salon.
Because at the end of the day, I don’t want to just make beautiful hair. I want to build confident, fulfilled stylists who know that education isn’t about ego — it’s about evolution.
Whether you’re sitting in my chair or my “classroom”, my goal is the same: to help you see your potential, feel inspired, and leave better than you came.
Warmly,
Kendra
